This 19th century Bavarian castle was one of three commissioned to be built for Louis II of Bavaria, who wanted the finished structure to be one of the “most beautiful one could find, holy and unapproachable”.
In fact the castle was built for a friend of Louis II, Richard Wagner, but was left unfinished as the King was certified insane towards the end of his career.
